Dental implants

Rediscover the joy of smiling and chewing without discomfort

What is implantology?

Dental implants are the point of attachment of dental prostheses in the presence of edentulous areas and therefore their stability within the oral cavity determines the stability of the entire prosthesis.

Implantology refers to those surgical techniques that serve to functionally rehabilitate a patient suffering from total or partial toothlessness, through the use of dental implants: titanium devices (highly biocompatible) surgically inserted into the mandibular or maxillary bone, which in turn allow the connection of prostheses (fixed or mobile), for the restoration of chewing and aesthetics function.

What are dental implants?

A dental implant is a medical device that enables the support of a prosthesis thanks to the process of osseointegration, which makes the implant an integral part of the patient’s own jaw bones. . Once proper osseointegration is ensured, the denture is then applied.

Today, the great progress made in the field of modern dental implantology make it possible to quickly and painlessly restore functionality to the mouth and beauty to smiles penalised by a lack of teeth.

IMMEDIATE LOADING

THE ADVANTAGES: SPEED AND RAPID HEALING

Immediate loading” implantology is an innovative technique for placing dental implants.

The patient has the possibility of having fixed teeth, while waiting for the tissues to heal, instead of being left without teeth before the definitive prosthesis is installed.

This type of intervention does not cause pain to the patient, thanks to the possibility of using light sedation to avoid the slightest discomfort.

There are 2 types of therapy, which take into account the timing of the placement of the screwed prosthesis on the implants and which, therefore, differ substantially in terms of the intervention times:

  1. Immediate load: Immediate load implantology involves a single surgical operation in which the implant is inserted and in the same session the prosthesis will be placed to restore immediately  aesthetics and functionality

  1. Deferred load: Deferred load implantology lets a period of 3 to 6 months elapse between the insertion of the implant and the application of the prosthesis.

ALL-ON-4® DENTAL IMPLANTS

The All-on-4® treatment (original from Nobel Biocare) is an implantology technique used to indicate the replacement of missing teeth with a complete denture, supported and fixed by 4 dental implants for each arch. This procedure makes treatment simpler and reduces the need for more invasive surgery, such as bone augmentation.

The “All-on-4®” method is backed by very positive clinical results, after a careful study carried out on the placement of four implants to support a full replacement arch.
